A buddy in MN shared a drawing a classmate of his kid made. They've been making thank you notes for parents who have volunteered to carpool them to school so their own parents don't have to risk waiting out by the bus stop.

we should want to make it undeniable that there is no choice but to end ICE, prosecute its officers for lawbreaking, and fundamentally rethink immigration enforcement.

Abolishing ICE is the moderate position, or it’s our job to make it the moderate position. Abolition was impossible before it was common sense. Civil rights were impossible before they it became common sense. Abolishing ICE is possible and that's what we should push for.

even ignoring all other evidence showing that trans sports bans are about discriminating against trans people, not protecting cis women... I'm supposed to believe that the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade and has two justices credibly accused of sexual misconduct cares about womens rights?

On my way to the Supreme Court where I'll be proud to support 15-year-old Becky Pepper-Jackson, West Virginia's only transgender athlete, as she opposes the state's effort to ban her from playing as herself. Win or lose, Becky and her family are heroes for standing up for what's right

We must speak plainly: January 6th was an attempted coup. It was an effort to nullify millions of lawful votes and subvert the will of the American people.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up. I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Congestion pricing seems like a great example of a policy where the effects are immediately legible to the public in a way that changes their views. Before, people were unsure; after, most people see the benefits and don't want to go back (see also smoking in bars).

As the judicial system continues to create incredibly specific carve-outs for trans people where laws and civil rights and common decency no longer apply, I want you to think very quickly and concisely about what the regime's endgame is here. Yeah, it's that. That thought you don't want to say.

There are many great explainers on the diagnostic changes that have led to a shift in population estimates, but this article isn’t it. This over and again subtly reinforces that there is an urgent issue the administration wants to address, and totally elides the clear eugenicist worldview behind it.

As long as the loudest folks on the left insist tone-policing, compromise on human rights, and acquiescence are our only options for a unified country, they will continue to lose the faith of the marginalized. And even when they win, they’ll just be waiting to lose the same way again.

Remember, they hate trans joy, they hate gay joy, they hate Black joy, they hate Native joy, etc. they hate when we can laugh and love and live our lives in our own skin. They hate that we can find our way without their rigid rules. To find joy and thrive is a great act of resistance too.

Full credit to Golden State and those Valkyries fans. Very rare that teams manage to take their atmosphere to the backup arena, never mind that packed-house raucous atmosphere GSV have. Also, of course, just an incredible season. Expansion teams don't do this. Outstanding debut year.

Some written constitutions work - see Germany, Ireland. Some unwritten ones are atrocious - see Israel. But ultimately form makes no difference if there is no culture of constitutionalism. If the gatekeepers surrender and the checks and balances are unused, it is game over.

When Trump says “we’re gonna beat the hell out of them” in front of a cheering crowd, the press doesn’t rise up and scream “political violence is never the answer” like they did today. They just say “Trump delivered another fiery speech.” The right is consistently allowed to call for violence.

the saddest part of all these condemnations on the left is that none of it matters. no amount of performative empathy and prostration will save you from the wrath of these people once they’ve decided you’re an enemy - you’re just adding fuel to the fire that they had always planned to burn you with.
