Finishing things up for #PicoIDE and it just about saturates the IDE bus in MWDMA mode 2. I’m pretty happy with this! It tests as fast as a 74x CD-rom drive which means there’s a bit more headroom in that mode but that could be the CPU on this K6-2 system being a bottleneck.

Apparantly, during gameplay Jazz Jackrabbit doesn't use Mode 13h or Mode X. It uses odd/even mode. I've tried to reverse engineer it, but I wasn't successful. If someone else wants to have a look, it's easier to analyse the beta version of the game engine. news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4283...

I just found a bug with the #playdate simulator I was getting mad because I couldn't understand why some textures wouldn't render with my code... Ended up testing it in the device: notice the big checkerboard texture missing in the simulator? Glad that for once it's not my fault 😂
