Apparantly, during gameplay Jazz Jackrabbit doesn't use Mode 13h or Mode X. It uses odd/even mode. I've tried to reverse engineer it, but I wasn't successful. If someone else wants to have a look, it's easier to analyse the beta version of the game engine. news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4283...
