I will NEVER understand why my local non-AMC movie theater stopped renting out their screens for private parties. That place has been dead more often than not except on big tentpole weekends, and my friends and I were guaranteeing them at least $200 every time one of us had a birthday. I miss it.

My dog has a lingering paw injury, work is a firehose of banal stress and dubious self-worth, and the general state of things has me flirting daily with despair. But yesterday I saw a robin plucked out of the sky by a red-tailed hawk and, well...at least my week started better than that.
