I continue to think the "all the marbles" situation is between November 6 2026 and January 1st, 2027. They're going to get historically wiped out, and Trump is going to lose it.

I think it's also telling what actual tools Trump has here are limited and they actually just tried to use them in '25. Both NJ and California had federal poll observers from DOJ - it did nothing. There's no magical "cancel elections" button from the federal government.

It also kind of misreads the coalitions right now. Voter suppression tactics, deleting voter rolls, etc. hurts low propensity voters the most - and there are just as many of those in the GOP now.

I don't necessarily disagree with people who refuse to vote on certain moral red lines, but I think they have to be honest about what they're doing and the limitations of their philosophy of governance.

It's more, imho, that they support a concept of accelerationism, but refuse to grapple with the idea that it is unlikely that even if the accelerationist universe they want comes to pass, their preferred social, ethical, and political system is highly unlikely to come into existence.
