Part of the reason I think something like "The Franchise" didn't quite land given the talent involved is that it really didn't skewer the MCU based on what general audiences thought of the series, but rather built it on Film Twitters attitude towards the MCU which isn't *really* an honest take.

I always find it hilarious that Transformers Prime establishes that Cybertron was devastated by an all consuming war that broke the minds and souls of all involved and ravaged the planet, and Robots in Disguise established it was mostly fought by Deceptions dressed up like cartoon animals.

Yeah, I remember the series. It was pretty ambitious and even though it had some missteps along the *TWENTY YEARS???*

It just shows that their intent was never about an interest in the film. It's them wanting to feel important for *liking a thing.* They can't defend it on its' merit, all they can do is mock someone for not being as "smart" as them.

I kinda wish western superhero media would have more scenes like this. I think they get so caught up in naval gazing sometimes they forget to have scenes that just show the hero being outright awesome and getting a clear win. Doesn't have to be all the time, but it would help.

For me it's not just that the narrative that the Prequels are good, it's that they were *always* good and that they were beloved at the time they came out. No, my sweet summer child. I was there. They were raked over the coals by *everyone.*

I think the thing that truly set ER apart from other medical dramas is that most dramas have the tone of "We are life savers and it is our job to stand between our patients and the great beyond by declaring 'One more day,'" ER's tone was consistently "This f*cking job..."

The wild thing is that a sect of anti-MCU groups latched onto this as an example of "real" filmmaking, but then you learn about the behind the scenes and realize that part of the reason MCU productions are so appealing is that they're tightly focused projects that don't deal with nonsense like this.
