An open letter to Grammarly and other plagiarists, thieves and slop merchants

Urban fantasy author Charles de Lint just published a new "novelet" and released it for free, his stories of myth and magic and community and found family are full of so much love and hope and we could all use some of that right now

In case you missed it yesterday, here’s the cover of the final (I swear to god this time) Sandman Slim novel, IN THE DEVIL WIND. It’s up for pre-sale on all of your favorite online site. (some extra info: The title is a reference to blues song lyrics)

1/2 I just had a nice conversation with another photographer about our love for a classic camera: the plastic, shitty in just the right way Holga. Here are a few of my favorite images, all shot on Fuji 3000 B&W film (though I tinted the angel photo for an album cover)

Despite the algorithmic parts, we live in an era of unrivaled connectivity and community when we have already made those bonds. It is possible to call a great of people in a great deal of places and have a clear conversation or share or receive data. The enemy wants to get in the way of you doing so

London? Not that Hammer was ever especially concerned with continuity, but none of the subsequent movies has him in London.

When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

One thing I loved about Deadwood was how Swearengen seems the villain in S1, and a hero by S3, without ever changing his behavior. It's purely our deeper understanding of his character and motivations that changes our perspective. That's some brilliant writing right there.

We can’t clean up Washington without restoring integrity to the Supreme Court. That’s why I believe we should expand the Supreme Court to 13 justices. And then, institute term limits. Because an appointment to the Supreme Court shouldn’t mean a lifetime lack of accountability.

Rearranging the deck chairs again. The only thing that would help would be loudly reversing their decisions on DEI and LBGTQ support, and even that might not save them, because who can trust a gutless corporation whose policies depend on who's in political power at the moment.

1/3 Because "FCC" now stands for Federal Censorship Commission, CBS' lawyers would not allow the broadcast of a Late Show segment interviewing James Talarico, a Dem running for senate in TX. So Colbert and his cronies posted it to their youtube channel.

Let me tell you about the SAVE Act. You need to know about it. It’s Trump’s first (of likely many) major attempt to rig the election in his favor. It takes away the right to vote for millions and allows your voting records to be erased. We cannot let it pass the Senate.

Omar is exactly the kind of Dem we need. Note that when the guy attacks, she moves *toward* him like she's ready to take him down herself. Once her security guys have him, she insists on finishing her speech. We need more fierce Democarts.

What makes these Vichy Democrats think that a few more regulations will reform a rogue agency that ignores the law, murders citizens w/o consequences, abducts children, tear gasses preschools and does random driveby pepper spraying? This is useless bullshit.
