as someone who is a former homeless person, its hits hard when u realize how incredibly hostile the world is to u when u have no place to be or no money to spend and how much ur life depends on having these things in modern society

turns out lacking the most basic thing in life, a consistent place to sleep where your shit is not being constantly stolen nor raided by 3rd party actors, makes you go fucking insane. it destroys you. it makes you want to die. you losing your glasses becomes a reason to throw yourself in the street.

a simple example of this comes from within my own chapter, where an unhoused member routinely has mental episodes from being unhoused (he gets his shit stolen, his shitty temp job fucks him over, he gets stuck two states away with no ticket back, etc) that get him repeatedly stuck in a hospital
