Seattle taxpayers should not be subsidizing roads in wealthy suburbs like Yarrow Point and Medina!

I authored this letter to fight for Seattle residents and their tax dollars. In addition to millions that would be directed away from our community, I'm concerned with the precedent this "cap" would set for Seattle. I'm grateful to my colleagues for signing on and hopeful for the path forward.

What turned me into an urbanist is working as a wetland biologist on projects like the one in the video. Going from delineation within an intact beautiful forest to a clearcut with patches of wetlands left behind. We can't get these places back, but we can be responsible with where we build housing.

We know that one of the best things we can do for the environment is to build dense housing in walkable neighborhoods with robust transit. Sprawl not only results in loss of forests and farmland, it increases green house gases and contributes to driving which results in more toxic runoff from tires

We need some of these up on/near Aurora! And really throughout the City!

Our libraries are an essential bulwark in defense of our democracy. From connections to lifesaving resources to millions of books and even sanctuaries from extreme weather, libraries are a vital part of our community.

Seems like data centers would be better sited in eastern WA, and should be co-located with solar and wind as their primary power source. Would help to address both electricity generation and transmission issues. What am I missing?
