Correct. Rankin withdrew her amendment but much of its content will make a reappearance in the newly created Policy Committee. Which is honestly fine, that's the place to hash it out, not in a last-minute amendment dropped on everyone out of the blue.

Big news that the City of Seattle has settled with Jaahnavi Kandula's family. Kandula was killed by an SPD officer more than 3 years ago. Also, btwn this and the City's payout in the Antonio Mays Jr. CHOP shooting case, the City has paid out at least $59.5 million in the last 2 weeks.

Wow. He was removed from his position in a Seattle suburb for supporting a student walkout against ICE. Looks like sweeping change will have to come to the Federal Way City Council, and oust the 4 pro-ICE councilmembers.

As a 40-something Millennial with a lot of 40-something Millennial friends, I gotta say we are NOT ready as a nation to deal with aging Boomers and their healthcare/assisted living needs. Right now almost all of it falls on us, their kids, who are in the thick of childrearing our own kids.

As a resident of The Land Beyond Sidewalks I am very excited for this to get off the ground.

The “Dawson”/Seward Park neighborhood center @alexis4seattle.bsky.social proposed last fall is an extreme compromise for this neighborhood. There are *zero* zoning changes for the whitest, wealthiest part of the Southend with all the redevelopment concentrated where renters and density already are.

I don’t EVER want to hear “they need to be better trained.” Pure cruelty like this doesn’t come from a lack of training. Training will only teach them how to be more effective at terrorizing the populous.

None of us avid School Board watchers will be at the board retreat, because none of us can go be in person all day, and the board/district has chosen to not provide remote access in this year of our gourd 2026. They will be discussing board governance, the board work plan, and strategic planning.
