Dan Strauss is proposing actual solutions to help save Ballard rail. The best solution is to vote no on the resolution, use the amendments as a starting point for a different, better proposal. But if they insist on the resolution, Strauss's proposal is the only way to save Ballard rail today.

HUGE news in my race for the the state LD. I'm challenging Gerry Pollet, a 15-year incumbent. We denied him the party endorsement tonight. We were told to expect this was impossible if I ran! But people are ready for change. Even in a place that hugely favors the incumbent, he did not prevail.

In the race for Washington's 46th LD State House of Representatives Position 1, no candidates secured the endorsement of the district. Gerry Pollet and Ron Davis were close to ~50% +-3% and below the required 60% for the endorsement. Will Dreher achieved just over 14% of the vote.

Seattle very clearly wants rail expansion. Sound Transit will alienate its core supporters and create massive political problems for itself if it proceeds with the Somers plan. It is time for wiser heads to prevail. We need city, county, and state leaders to intervene and stop ST from gutting ST3.

Those legislators are also raising concerns about the trustworthiness of what they're hearing from Sound Transit, and even signaling some potential openness to reforming the Sound Transit board. Wow. The public is even more furious.
