The Seattle Shield Initiative is a big win for small businesses in Seattle. Thank you to our favorite council member @alexis4seattle.bsky.social for giving our struggling small businesses some relief and making large corporations pay their fair share.

This project is the gold standard of how to do more with less: creativity with existing tools and rapid implementation. “Protected bike lanes on Aurora Ave” is unfathomable for some people yet they already exist and keep people safe. Next step is to complete them along the entire corridor.

I appreciate that SDOT is encouraging places to park Lime bikes and scooters but I don't understand why they have to take up valuable sidewalk space. There's plenty of street parking available and just one space can fit 10+ bikes and scooters.

The reasoning assumes projects completed during Harrell's mayoral term wouldn't have without him. I ask that readers consider what could be possible with a mayor who actually rides a bike and depends on transit because that's also who WA bikes endorsed for city council p8. Vote for Katie Wilson.

The actual city budget proposal only indicates a $20k design contest at the site.

RIP to Ohsun in Pioneer Square and Lantern Brewing on Aurora. I loved visiting both of these places and did so often. They are owned by people in the neighborhood who just wanted to make a space for the community and serve good food and drink for their neighbors.

6th Ave NW is a gold mine of what used to be a small neighborhood hub. I suspect because the pocket park is an old streetcar/trolly transfer station. Look at this cool little former storefront that is currently illegal to build and use as a store today. I would open a coffee shop if I lived here.

I just want the bus that literally drives past the Woodland Park Zoo to stop and let me get off at the zoo.
