I knit & crochet, and the basics apply to both: swatch first to see if the stitch gauge is even close (and if you like the way the fabric looks/feels). Adjust hook size/pattern if needed (might involve math). Try on frequently (easier with crochet, as you don't have a zillion loose loops). Have fun.

Treated myself to a new crochet hook this weekend, and made myself promise to finish one project before carrying on with the next- because with three on the go nothing is ever gonna get finished 😅 (Also, stitch markers are amazing, sooooo helpful) #crochet

So today would have been my mom's birthday. The second one since she passed. Grief has been a strange beast. Aggressive in the beginning, an ache over time. Now an occasional sense of unmooring. Time changes things, but doesn't change that she was an amazing woman who I still miss very much 🖤

When cats are confused by or upset about something, they just smack the shit out of whatever it is that's frustrating them and I think that's beautiful.

Finished 'Old Soul' by Susan Barker last night and still thinking about it. Such a gorgeously written, unnerving horror. It's not loud, or gory, but it sneaks under your skin. Highly recommend (especially as it is spooky season, after all) 🖤😱 #BookSky
