If the ultra-rich paid their fair share, we could not only afford Social Security, but also afford to increase it.

Apparently there’s grocery inflation discourse again, but as I’ve been buying groceries for other families during this crisis, often under duress, it’s brought me out of my own optimized grocery spending habits, which rely heavily on Costco. And damn, there is a huge price to pay for being poor.

This is what ICE does every day. Hunt little kids who are here legally. They get sent to a place called the “baby jail” in Texas. Very little of it ends up on video like this. But it’s routine. And disgusting.

ICE kidnapped a neighbor in Phillips today along with others in MN. They are still the same rogue, abhorrent, & illegitimate organization meant to terrorize & separate families. As I said yesterday, I am still asking the community to remain cautious & vigilant. We still need help. Jason Chavez 1/

I'm all for pardons and second chances. But it's a hell of a juxtaposition to pardon millionaire NFL players convicted of drug distribution while you're summarily executing impoverished fishermen making a few hundred bucks to shuttle drugs around the Caribbean.

This is what the gop is going to face for the next 3 years. Stuttering delusional old white guys dumbfounded when someone replies “of course I am in favor of my constitutional rights, why do you hate this country?” every time they assert the secret police should be able to kill you for talking back.

These dudes think this is so clever. Beyond the difference in harms that accompanies the age limits for booze and voting, there were 26,000+ arrests of minors for liquor law violations in 2019. It’s a relatively common crime. There are functionally no arrests each year for in-person voter fraud.

Yeah I’ve seen “progressives” in other cities saying the blockades are a step too far… ICE agents drive like they’re in GTA. Even beyond the kidnapping and the murder, they‘re speeding and crashing their cars everywhere. With zero consequences.

a fun thing about living in Minneapolis right now is that you have to be hypervigilant about every unfamiliar car that drives down your street, any unfamiliar person walking on your block, because you never know when ICE will just come abduct your neighbors.

This Homan presser is completely incoherent. He started by announcing a drawdown of 700 agents (good!) but then pivoted to whining about "rhetoric" (bad) and suggested there will be more bloodshed if it doesn't stop (grim). Not clear to me that anything is actually changing on the ground here in MN.
