I just found out the guy who composed Paramount's famous fanfare had died back in June. Lalo Schifrin was his name.

Early concept art for the Super Mario Bros. Super Show suggesting the cartoon was planned to have animated public service announcements. While Captain Lou Albano did a similar PSA wearing a Mario hat ("if you do drugs, you go to Hell before you die"), that one was live-action.

This drawing is still the most accurate portrayal of childhood disappointment.
