I think this is an aspect of trying your best that's glossed over because it doesn't fit story narratives. It's okay to try something really hard, and realize the time and physical and monetary cost isn't worth it. It's okay to give up sometimes. You tried, and you learned things. That's good!

So when costs of the NDIS increase those with disabilities are blamed. If it was a public service, and the costs increased it would be the fault of the inefficient govt and the PC etc would recommend privatizing it so we can then blame those with disabilities.

The entire issue with the NDIS is that a generation of Australians (including almost everyone working in the political media) have become indoctrinated to believe the private sector is more efficient than the private sector. Privatize disability care? What *could* go wrong???
