Did some more implementation on Bleed for Me, but the dumb chapter transitions are proving very annoying! Can't get them to show properly, and most of the advice I'm seeing isn't really getting me anywhere. I might try going through and messing with bitrate stuff on the exported webm, but aaaagh!

Really thinking about writing about the Altered Beast game from 2005. What if I told you it's peak? It'd be a lie but the constant body horror is kinda killer. I kinda wanna trace the through-line of Sega's edgy reboots.

Today has been movies and anime with some of my besties. Now it's time to keep doing research for pitches and working on my game.

Seeing these Rule of Rose rumors and I gotta say it seems pretty bad to me that we seem to have literally one game studio allowed to make mainstream horror games.

i met up with some old friends tonight. first time i've talked to them in years at this point, it was bound to be awkward. they knew i transitioned, but when they saw me they basically treated me like a freak. when they asked what i do and i replied that im a writer, they spent a good while

stop trying to cram everything into 12 episode seasons/series. bring back longer episode counts (24+) not everything has to be one or the other; we should have a healthy mix of both long and short form series. let stories be whatever length is best to be most effective

That anime opinion post is a curse because first I saw all of the ones that I agree with, but now I'm seeing all the ones that are wrong and evil

Dubbing is an accessibility issue as much as a labor one. Voice actors are underpaid and overworked, and treating a dub as inherently lesser is wack. People who can only engage with anime via dubbing deserve well performed and written dubs, and "bad" dubs is often due to bad management. Pay actors!

manga/comics artists deserve to live full, comfortable lives into old age, and as a fan I’m not entitled to a particular release schedule or price point

Looking at 90s anime designs and comparing them to modern designs, it feels like a lot of the life has just gotten sucked out of them. Less expressive, flatter eyes and lanker hair.

We need 26 and 52 episode seasons! We need a new generation of casting directors and voice direction to breathe life into dubs! We need more original series that aren't remakes of prior properties! We need fewer series every season or the bubble will pop! I've been screaming about this for 8 years!

My current Turn A Gundam notes are pretty simple; I think so much of the setting is utterly fascinating, especially in contrast to what I've perceived as the "standard" Gundam style. The push towards a 1900s-flavored representation of a future Earth is to die for-- the whole look is so wonderful.

Today's Roxy Update On the VN front, I did some work implementing the first scene of Bleed for Me into Ren'py. I actually have no experience with Ren'py, so it's been fun! Otherwise, I'm on episode five of Turn A Gundam. The queen of the moon has made her appearance... Turn A Turn, Turn A Turn...

Just tested this. My site does not appear at all on Duckduckgo anymore, but it does on Google and Startpage. Also, this is how I learn Duckduckgo uses Bing results lmao, I already hate how glazed that shitty-ass search engine gets but now I have even more reason to not use it.
