i'm generally very calm and collected about even the games i dislike but whenever i try a gigapopular gatcha game it draws deeply buried vitriol out of my soul. the 3d open world action rpg ones in particular feel spiritually exxonmobil to me.

Starting 2026 strong by finishing one of the best games I've played in mmonths, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright. Still wrangling my thoughts together but this is such an unbelievably well-realised labour of love I choked up a few times at it. Rare game with zero wasted screenspace.

People are taking potshots at game as a medium for storytelling, and I don't even really want to comment on that because I think we are all reductive at times when we want to be, but it just doesn't hold water to me because this is the medium that gave us the sickly lamb in Loom.
