i also wish to add a few things about ff7 rebirth that is really irrelevant to this piece itself: rebirth is actually a deeply romantic game about breaking up, its about having the 'its not you its me' conversation between text and audience.

beyond dreams is too lame and too literal of a translation of 夢の彼方へ for a dragon quest subtitle. like if they could do echoes of an elusive age for 過ぎ去りし時を求めて then they really could have gone for something more imaginative (and alliterative, to keep on brand...) i agree with the general thesis here but in a sense i think its a case of misplaced priorities to even write about xenoblade 2 this way bc its a reactionary utterly misogynistic game that critiquing the (lack of) elegance of the writing/direction is like critiquing the interior design at guantanamo

Coming from Kochi the heat in Jaipur is actually quite nice. It's not humid in the same way so it feels like turning the heating on in the English winter, lying in bed and putting your feet up to the radiator.
