The internet was never a perfect place, but at least a lot of these media companies gave a darn about kids and gave them safe, fun spaces to be fully entertained online. Alas, this generation will never have that experience. Maybe those that had these places will bring them back for the next one.

I've been recently thinking that the vanishing of dedicated portable gaming hardware has been a net loss for the game industry as a whole. That was where a lot of experimental or sidegames by bigger studios often popped up which have been replaced by...nothing, really.

It's great to see DK back in Bananza! Back in 1994, we were getting ready to bring DK back ourselves! With Nintendo having lost ground to Sega in the console wars, it can't be over-estimated how important DKC was for Nintendo (and Rare of course!)

I keep playing Bananza and getting irritated in my usual way, thinking to myself “There’s so much I adore about this adventure… but why couldn’t it be a Donkey Kong game? It’d be perfect for the series!” And then I remember that, for once, it actually IS a Donkey Kong game. Holy shit.

@dkvine.com My theory is that this isn’t the same DK Pass from previous appearances but an accurate replica of the location built by the Mushroom Kingdom workers after receiving the blueprints for it to make their own version for this MKW continent. Same case for “Dino Dino Jungle” & “Peach Beach”.
