BBC, Sky and ITV News all led their news with Jesse Jackson's passing, devoting 5+ minutes (even in half-hour shows) to his passing + context. ABC, CBS, NBC all put the story in the middle of their b'casts, spending 2-3 minutes on it. CNN's The Lead + AC360 put his passing midway through, too

I'm white, but whenever I get temptations and feelings to "stay home" or "leave it blank", I need to be reminded by clips like this and realize it's dumb and foolish that makes me surrender my voice at a table which many got literally murdered in order to get a seat at.

God, I want to do a fun take of the DC characters a la Superfriends. Silver Age goofiness and hijinks, Bronze Age ethos, and with a deep modern roster. A balance of levity and action. Not quite SF or Batman: The Brave and the Bold, not quite JL Action either. Kid-friendly yet a bit mature.

Just started reading Superman Smashes the Klan, and something hit me as I got a few pages in. I've never associated a scent with Kryptonite. Clark gets into a fight with an Atom Man and gets exposed to it, presumably for the first time, and he still could smell it on his clothing, nauseating him.

Oh, this is brilliant, solemn, and poignant. The symbolism of the settings of each act of this short dance sequence is damn strong too. That was intentional and hits home, especially if you know what happened as well as your history. Damn good.

I don't know what's the craziest out-of-left-field show from the Tubi "cartoon era" drop. It's either The New Adventures of Gilligan or The Dukes of Hazzard cartoon. Neither has been on TV in decades, and WB has really been ignoring the live-action version of "them Duke boys" for about a decade.

I’ll admit that airing a show ad nauseum all of the time is rough for a network, but it gets the ratings, which is what keeps the sponsors going. Also, on a selfish note, the more something airs on a network, the more residuals the actors get. Cable is broke because they keep laying off good people.

The last thing I want to do is discourage anyone's dreams, and if I did that, that wasn't my intentions. There's nothing wrong with dreaming or even holding on to them. As I mentioned before, nothing is forever, and in my heart of hearts, this scale back at Nick Animation will pass in time.

You pretty much showed off a bunch of sites and stats that proved everything I said to be correct: - The linear cable industry is broken. - People still watch linear cable (but far from its peak). - Old media barons are pushing streaming - Media companies have no idea what they're doing.

You talked about audience fatigue and showed me a holiday lineup filled with movies Nick has aired off and on every week for about two years now and a daily afternoon lineup (when most kids are out of school) largely dominated by one show and one of those movies. Are you serious with this?

I'm not assuming anything. I think the television market is evolving & nothing is forever. Believe me, I'm still a huge believer in linear television. I just think the cable model itself is broken right now largely because those old media barons have put all of their resources into streaming.

1. Because people have been complaining that Nick's lineup is so saturated with SpongeBob, and viewers want variety. 2. Because they want people to watch repeats of a show that originally aired on Netflix that Nick later picked up but didn't produce. That's the purpose of ads. Again, not a gotcha.

Because they're going to where the kids are, and kids are on YouTube and Netflix. They have their shows on Amazon Prime and Apple TV because they want people to buy those shows. They have their shows on Paramount+ because their parent company also owns that. Not the gotcha you think this is.
