I felt so called out by this, I spent ages trying to think of someone that fits into the third category but I don't really have one. The closest I would have is maybe like, the Barrel Blast Kremlings. Who are in all three categories actually.

Oh yeah, ANOTHER thing I like more about the first Mario movie is it gave us some new characters. They weren't much to speak of but I'm a nerd for characters so I was happy about the Penguin King, General Blueshell, Chauffeur Kong... I'm glad they exist. I like Illumination having OCs lol

Yes, although iirc the mood filtering doesn't do anything as of yet? It's more for people's own knowledge of what to expect. When you submit a song you can choose "happy" "gloomy" etc but the randomizer doesn't try to fit gloomy songs in Gloomy Galleon or anything like that. (Continued-)

So now that I've slept on it. I think both movies were roughly equal in terms of quality. They were both fast-paced and shallow and it's hard for me to call one "better." Galaxy was probably more impressive in terms of animation/visuals. ...But I totally like the first movie better! Here's why-

I adore how effectively Pokopia actually uses established Pokemon lore/biology, even the ones that are upsetting. Having Paras constantly talk about how they're still hungry after eating, and what they want to do when they grow up, and then hitting you with this guy. I love them both (always have)
