If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features." There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Many people have noted that the Primary / Social / Forums / Updates tabs are missing when you do this 👀. You can recreate these manually using the "Multiple Inbox" setup in settings. Basically, tell your inbox to include emails tagged "inbox" and exclude the social / forums / updates.

One of my favorite feelings in the world is when I’m stuck on something and I haven’t been able to get my brain focused on it. Then, one day, I hop in the shower, and suddenly the brain starts braining and the words start flowing. And that’s when I know that everything is gonna be alright again.

Getting stuck while we're writing is a feature, not a bug. It's the point of the exercise. It's what happens when we are trying to express something we have not expressed before. That friction forces us to make the tools we need to understand and express it. Getting stuck is how we make meaning.

Every year I am less and less enthused with a traditional publishing route. Considering how little control authors sometimes have over the cover art with trad pub, I REAALLY do not like the idea that my cover art could potentially be made with AI and I wouldn't even know about it. I would be LIVID

Why write a goody two-shoes when i can write a morally grey character who makes questionable decisions, snarky little remarks, and has no business being as arrogant as they are. Cherry on top of the cake? They're gay and do crime! #writer
