For one thing, they send a message *to Americans* that much of the world does not accept or condone their regime's behaviour, that it will lead to isolation, instability and conflict of various kinds (not necessarily military or symmetrical)

This is such a perfect example of disinformation because ~80% of the sentences are not precisely *wrong*, in the "well I suppose one could put it that way" sense, mixed with some "wait what?" pure nonsense, plus sweeping omissions, plus implied false connections. Reminds me of MAHA Facebook posts.

A deadline's whooshing past so in addition to a trackbear graph, this month I'm using a spreadsheet in which cells change colour for each pomodoro session according to # of words. Here are two things I looked for in letters-to-the-editor when I used to pick them: - Very short letters, because you're always looking to fill 2/3 lines. 50 words is fine! - Letters that read like a real person using their own words. (Maybe not *all* their words.) You could write one tonight!

I got to read an early edition of SuperCanucks: An Anthology of Canadian Small-Town Superheroes, and I really enjoyed it. A broad range of interesting interpretations of the idea from very talented authors, some I knew and some new to me. Comes out in March and available to pre-order now.
