This is on Kodak UltraMax 400; because of battery weirdness I wanted to test to see if I should shoot with the camera set to 100 or 200. From my comparison shots it doesn't look like it makes a ton of difference between 100 (first shot) or 200 (second), at least at 400

last week on my lunch break I went to a camera shop on the lower east side to buy film, and while there found out that they do development+scans for $10 on Wednesday, so I just took the rest of my lunch break and walked around shooting a test roll

constantly re-amazed at how much “king solomon’s marbles” resembles “splash” by can, released in november ’74. i think it’s just a case of 2 jammy bands deciding in approximate parallel that it’d be fun to shred in 7 over a latin feel.

Richard Thompson’s “Borrowed Time” is such an underrated gem in his canon. In a sea of misanthropic lyrics, few lines hit as hard as: You can’t live your life under no man’s thumb / they’ll all pay double for what they’ve done / our day’s coming but their day’s come

came across some great pro videos (with pro audio) of jim o'rourke playing with the full "insignificance" era band, which are dated (march 25, 2000) but no venue listed. guessing it's chicago, can anybody tell? tried & failed at some newspaper searches.

Not understanding what’s going on is the main thing I look for in a book. All I ask for from a book is that I am confused. Nothing else is worth reading.

An unexpected connection: My TBR shelf (floor) has gotten way out of control the last few years, so recently I've been trying to plow through it (rather than fussily worry about exactly the right book to read next) without overthinking it.

Last night I dreamt I was in a mall & over the speakers was this Ronnie Spector-esque song called “Dirty Jim,” the lyrics, as best I could remember upon waking, went like this: Well his name was Dirty Jim & there was something odd about him, he was always hangin round searching for that dirty sound

Was life better before the internet? Buddy, life was better before cable television. Nothing to do but read and occasionally catch the static-obscured second half of a budget sci-fi movie you will never know the name of on the one small television in the house.

A classic Amazon review. It's about Leslie Scalapino's experimental novel, Defoe, which has nothing to do with Daniel Defoe and *definitely* nothing to do with Willem Dafoe.
