Alongside colleagues, I have tabled a motion to disapprove the Equality Act 2010: Draft Code of Practice for Services, public functions and associations. We cannot support it, and we have a responsibility to our trans constituents to resist it. Please email your MP asking them to sign EDM 240.

The big takeaway from the Spring box office isn't that horror is hot. Horror has been hot for the last few years. The big headline is that PEOPLE ARE GOING TO THE MOVIES AGAIN. Gen Z has found what they'll pay to see...IN THEATERS! This is amazing for the industry and film lovers both.

GREG DAVIES: seems like a kind of a shit task. Everyone just seems like they're going home normally. ALEX HORNE: well before you say that let's have a look at how Odysseus did. cut to panel of AJAX, MENELAUS, AGAMEMNON, and DIOMEDES who are all staring at ODYSSEUS with his head in his hands

Part of being an AI user in creative works is convincing yourself that everyone ELSE uses it too, because otherwise you have to confront the reality that you're a faker and a fraud

The dude who runs Twitter, controls your feed, and makes money off your posts is on week two of posting about how Chris Nolan casting a black woman as a beautiful woman is anti-white genocide. I do not want to write for that guy for free, which is what you're doing when you post to his platform.

As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.

Thereâs a glaring historical inaccuracy in Christopher Nolanâs upcoming film of The Odyssey: they didnât have cameras back then. Theatres should have a blank screen and an old man reading out the script

You can vote on the Hugo Awards, even if you don't plan to go to the Worldcon. A $50 WSFS membership gets you voting rights on the Hugo Award. It also usually comes with ebook copies of finalists. We'd certainly love to see more people voting (and would also love your vote for fanzine this year.)

ngl the hugos and worldcon + associated community should probs do a WAY better job of explaining that Yes, Membership Costs Money BUT the hugo voters packet contains wayyyyy more media than you'd normally get for that money.

My best craft advice is "Put a giant worm in it." You can never go wrong with a giant worm. Sci-fi: Giant worm on an alien planet Fantasy: Giant worm in mountain sitting on a pile of gold Horror: Giant worm (eats people) Romance: Giant worm causes third-act breakup Mystery: Giant worm investigates
