An update on the stuff with the DFL Feminist Caucus: Thank you to all who signed the letter! I had a meeting with Richard Carlbom, chair of the State DFL, on Monday, and he promised a response by the end of the week on Friday. It is 4PM on Friday and I have not seen a response.

Luna recapped our meeting here! I'm waiting on follow through - I've had a lot of cis people promise action and then do nothing, but I got the feeling we were being taken seriously.

Richard promised to take public action by the end of the week. I look forward to him following through on his commitments, and I'm hopeful that we can work together to make the DFL a safe and welcoming party for trans folks.

In 2024, the DFL Official Call has it at 10% for most types of amendments, or 65 delegates for the platform report. The proposed Call for 2026 has it at 25% for most types of amendments, or 120 delegates for the platform report. I wonder why the big increase?

So it looks like the shooter essentially took out a load bearing piece of fascist infrastructure which is why every institution is reacting like a state leader got shot. Because functionally, he was. Which is telling me that the fascist bench is incredibly shallow.

Also, as Alicia so helpfully pointed out in her email, the people present for this disaster of a meeting were DNC members, the DFL Secretary, DFL Vice-Chairs, etc. So this wasn’t just random people at that meeting. It is people from the highest levels of the Party, including the Officer Slate.

To me, the embarrassing thing for the Chair is not so much the feminist caucus because, sorry, but who cares? It's drifted in and out of relevance for decades. The real problem is how many of these same people undid the Mpls DFL endorsement a few weeks ago. This now shows their actual malice.

Andrew Johnson was still physically present in Minneapolis, his part-time status was for one month rather than 4 months, and Johnson resigned on November 21st which allowed Chowdhury to be seated early. Ellison has stated he has no intention of resigning early.
