Someone's pet cat with the native wild red squirrel it just killed. Most cat owners have no idea of, or don't want to know, how much wildlife is slaughtered annually by domestic or feral cats. But it runs to 10s, possibly 100s, of BILLIONS of animals per year, and is a serious driver of extinction.

Sad news. I knew Bob a little. He was both a wonderful artist and activist. A gracious and generous man, fully engaged with the world. He entertained and enlightened, putting his star power to great use. His light shined brightly for decades. We will miss it. Sending love to his friend and family.

Some are saying we shouldnât commit to net zero âat any priceâ. Fair enough then, what is the price? The NCRA sets out some fairly serious costs for adaptation and is clear that these are less than the costs of inaction. It also is frank in its view that it is likely UNDER-estimating the costs.

Exactly. I must've gotten dozens of "you're the only reason I'm still on Twitter!" in the months before I finally left in October 2023. They meant it as a compliment, but it always struck me as confirmation that I was complicit in what that place was becoming, so I left. So can everyone else.
