Nothing quite pisses me off like the cultural desire to collapse art into a set of moral instructions. This terminally online compulsion to turn art into blanket endorsement by the artist for everything it depicts coupled with judging people for liking it on those grounds is a poison on the world.

one of the reasons i really like pixel art is its abject refusal to go too far down that path. it always requires that you put your imagination forward, and leaves room for metaphors and mechanics that would feel entirely wrong in a less abstract environment
