definitely feeling lucky that silksong’s difficulty is basically perfect for me. a lot of the problems people have with it are actually things that make it very fun for me, and a lot of the frustrating things are serving as very good motivators.

really digging silksong, quite a bit more than hollow knight. very grey and bleak but the experience of actually exploring is quite exciting and i like the design of a lot of the pitfalls and traps

LÖVR has a really cool way of handling high traffic temporary vector math types in lua and i was able to replicate it in mlua so YAY that’s rad, don’t have to have garbage collector on my mind

im surprised at how much i've found i like lua as a language now that im using the language server. adding type information just helps me catch a way larger percent of bugs before i ever run my code. and especially with mlua which just like handles all the interop with a much less error prone api

i have so many… qualms w/ how game developers treat stats. like steam stats and user stats and how they interpret player data. it’s talked about in this mathematical way like it’s objective, but it leaves out so much contextual information and has no control, and ultimately feels like superstition
