We are both thinking a lot about another dog, like daily searches of rescues a lot. Today we found a 13.5 yr old deaf pug 🥺🥺🥺 who needs help and are seriously considering being his helpers. I am overwhelmed by and also excited at the possibility.

my high school teacher mom is individually raising money to help cover the expense for the kids who are losing SNAP coverage at her school and members of Congress make roughly 2-4 times the income of the average high school teacher in America

The SNAP shutdown is so fucked up - I’ve been strategizing where to donate, how to support those in need, but I feel helpless. I can’t do much. Encouraged to see local farms, businesses, etc step up to fill the void left by selfish politicians w/ skewed priorities, endless shoulder shrugging.

Today I worked from 7:38 to 7:17 with two half hour breaks. WHEW! What a dedicated employee. Now I’m watching the end of last night’s WS game bc I was so insulated from the world today I don’t know who won!

My strongest political belief is that the world would be damn near a utopia if everyone had to work retail for a bit, because in retail you work with EVERYBODY - every religion, every age, every class, every income, every color - and you are all united against a common enemy: corporate assholes

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

My dog died in June. I tried to sort through her toys today… yeah. Now my eyes hurt from weeping. I’m eating Pumpkin Spice Goldfish and I don’t know that it’s helping anything. I miss my dog.
