Not bad for my first Riftbound tourney. 2-1 using a $10 Yasuo deck into Kai’Sa (big L right there…I was speed bagged), Teemo, and Miss Fortune. That Kai’Sa deck is stupid efficient. The Miss Fortune deck is something I’d like to play, but not dropping the cash for it.

This was basically the outcome I expected all along. The saga isn’t necessarily over. UD may appeal based on a disagreement with some of the judge’s rulings on motions prior to judgement, and UD said they’ll also pursue this in Europe. But for now, this is at least a temporary resting point.

The RPH has catastrophically failed twice now in the Disney Lorcana $15k in Denver. Ravensburger, please hit the pause button on that utility. This is genuinely unfair to the players in these events and puts unnecessary stress on the judge team that’s helping manage the events through these issues.

My interest here isn’t what the store or WotC is doing. Rather, it’s the phrase “toxic casual mentality” which I’ve never heard or read before. Is that a thing? If so, how would you fine people define it? What does it look like?

Also relevant: the deck she won with was her own creation. No net decking, pulled the cards from the collection herself. Her first genuine fully custom self-build-from-scratch deck. That in itself is a significant step for any budding TCG player. Winning with it, even better.

Ravensburger, the RPH software is being live beta tested at the expense of the players. This can’t continue. It’s my opinion that the RPH only be used for non-competitive events until such time as the product has some of these significant kinks ironed out.

I may not grieve someone’s passing but I don’t take joy in murder.

TCG design is fun cos everyone thinks they can do it, very few can, and nobody who needs to read this will believe it 😂
