Mahjong Thursday was good. I at least won one game. I thought I won another but read the hand wrong. I was very close. We played quite a few hands & I do feel like I’m slowly picking it up.

Today my friend & I went to an antique store (new to us) & I got these brass whale bookends. They are so cool! I was very pleased.

I also made a books bracelet. As my friend pointed out I’m in my wrap bracelet era.

Made a Stitch bracelet for Lorcana at Disneyland. Excited to wear it!

Played so much mahjong today! We played 3 player with a ghost which my friend won all of the games. Then my other friend & I have been playing messy mahjong almost all day. We started around 1pm then broke for dinner & now we’re still going.

Played 7 rounds of messy mahjong (2 players). I was doing good until my friend won 3 in a row so I only won 2 games total. However I was able to win with a closed hand! After the Charleston I had 1-8 in cracks which felt like I should’ve been a hand. I ended up winning pairs.

I didn’t know what the pack was but now I do.

Got the dessert plates & small bowls of the Blue Willow pattern. I’m very excited! I already have the dinner plates & a large bowl. Since these are made now they are dishwasher & microwaveable safe. Made my day.

Monday night Lorcana: 1 - 2 player game then 4 - 3 player games. I was able to win 2 but my old deck didn’t do well. It was fun to play thievery again!!

Today was board game day & we played 3 different games. The Resistance (twice) then Scattegories (4xs to complete the paper) & finally Zombie Dice-press your luck! Fun time hanging out with friends.

Finally got the last of the Four Gentlemen done (orchid), these plants represent the four seasons. From Wikipedia-Plum Blossom (Winter): Symbolizes resilience and perseverance. Because it blooms in the bitter cold and snow, it represents the courage to thrive during life's harshest adversities.

Friday night Lorcana: 4 - 4 player games & I was able to win 1 with my Lilo & Stitch deck. My mostly location deck didn’t do well & my husband used freeze the vine 3xs which wasn’t terrible because I had only 1 location each time he played it. Dinky was played several times & that really hurt me.

Went to the bead store with a friend & of course bought some pretty, pretty beads but more importantly got toggles. Then went to lunch (Mediterranean was delicious) & came home to do beading. Made a Christmas bracelet for a friend & the friend I was with wanted one too.

Today’s mahjong we all won 2 games each. We’re still playing with a ghost which does make the games seem to go faster. 2 of the games seemed to be over before we even started! Another fun time getting together with friends.

Monday night Lorcana: played 3 games with 4 players & was able to win 2 of them. It was a close game on 2 of them. We were all close in lore to one another. I was able to win with Lilo & Stitch deck & my mostly location deck.

Yes the toy is as big as Malcolm but he loves it! Will have to take it away eventually as he loves to eat the toy & not just play with it.

Family Law showed the family playing Catan. Haven’t played it but know of it.

I’ve been binge watching Family Law & Lauren Holly’s character has been shown reading different books on almost every episode. These seem to be real books unlike Stevie’s character on Schitt’s Creek. Also a fan of people reading!

Today in mahjong we played 5 games with a ghost & I won one. Jokers helped with the win. I’m good with that as sometimes I get so confused to which hand I should pick. It’s fun to get together with my neighbors & talk & play & have snacks. Maybe I’ll get good enough to win more than one!

I was all over the Snoopy Lego set! I did the pre order but then had to wait longer because there was already a back order on it. I got it today & excited to put it together.

Monday night Lorcana didn’t go well for me. I played 5 games - 2 with 4 players & 3 with 3 players. I lost all of them. I think my deck is too weak against the others.

June book club books: Bog Queen by Anna North (half listened & half read-thought it was OK & liked the moss & Druid parts the most), Mrs. Lincoln's Sisters by Jennifer Chiaverini (my pick) & Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese (also my pick & was able to see the author on a panel).

Finished Bog Queen by Anna North today for my upcoming book club. I liked it well enough. I found the story of the Druid & the moss the most interesting. I half listened & half read the book.

Tonight at Friday Lorcana league we played 5 games with 3 players. Scott crushed us with winning 3 games. I was able to win the 1st game with one of his decks & the last game with my Lilo & Stitch.

Went to one of my book clubs last night, we read The Lincoln Highway. It wasn’t my favorite book but it wasn’t bad. I liked A Gentleman in Moscow much better. A mixed bag of liking/not liking Dutchess. I was on the not liking. The author was trying to make him likable but he just wasn’t.

Monday night Lorcana: played 3 - 4 player games. Won 2 games one with my location deck then the other with my Stitch & Lilo deck. Husband says he’s going to make a freeze the vine deck to stop my location one. 😢 I’ll need to change it because of set rotation. Thinking half location & half characters

Friday night Lorcana: Memorial Weekend made lots of people not come. 3 games of 1v1 & I only won one game (Lilo & Stitch deck). Then a 3 player game where I won with my location deck (does much better in a group game). Finally one last game (1v1 again) with a deck made by Scott & it won.

Today at mahjong we all won. Played 4 games & each of us won. Celebrated a birthday with mini Nothing Bundt Cakes which were yummy! Nothing beats a lemon one!

Had my neighborhood book club tonight on I’m Glad My Mom Died. We all liked it & it took us down the rabbit hole of other celebrity’s memoirs. Also child actors who wanted to shed their innocence to move into adult acting. Jennette McCurdy had a rough childhood but I’m glad she talks about getting

Monday night Lorcana: 1v1 (I lost) then a 3 player game (I lost) then 2 - 4 player game which I won the very last one. @psypher1000.lorcana.community’s new decks are killing it.

I’m not loving Duchess in The Lincoln Highway. He steal the car (he justifies it by calling it borrow) then uses money not his. It’s funny when Wooly takes off with the car. I’m almost halfway through the book!

Had game day: 2 rounds of Wits & Wages & 1 round of Who Knows You Best?. I tied on the 2nd game of Wits & Wages which I’m good with. Didn’t gamble any of my chips. Enjoyed the time with my friends.

Went an hour earlier for a walk in the morning & what a difference that made. Much more pleasant. Have to go back to later time this coming week until my friend’s kids are out of school but will start early time the last week of May.

Friday night Lorcana was a bust for me. We played 3 games with 4 players & I lost all games. Played my location deck & they went after it. Talking to @psypher1000.lorcana.community to see if I can make it a bit stronger. Will tweak it.

Purchased my first audiobook for book club. Price was high for a print copy & the wait on the library was long. So I’m taking a chance because I don’t typically listen to books. I don’t have a ton of time to read it plus I have The Lincoln Highway to get through & it’s a big book!

Got some bargain books from Fry’s. The Emily Henry had sprayed edges & looks very pretty. The other book I’m sending to my sister. I’ve got a whole stack of books for my mom & sister.

Monday Lorcana League was 4 - 3 player games. I used my Stitch deck but it didn’t win until the last game. Even at that I feel like I won because a player let me win. @psypher1000.lorcana.community used his 2 new decks (Snow White & Dwarfs & Toy Story) he won with both decks.

I was able to get I’m Glad My Mom Died in time for my book club! I started reading it today & not too far off from halfway through the book. I like it so far but it is sad how she’s never able to find her own voice/self. She’s now starving herself & her mom is helping her.

I started reading The Lincoln Highway & I don’t trust Duchess. Billy has been collecting silver dollars in a chronological date. He’s got quite a few & I don’t want him to take them out when Duchess is around. I feel like Duchess will steal them. Maybe his character will change. Will have to see.

May book club reads: Book Lovers by Emily Henry (read), Jade City by Fonda Lee (at 60%), I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy (not sure I’ll get it in time to read it) & The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles (big book but hoping I can get to it).

Pack rush at Friday night Lorcana. Played 3 games & won 1. Played a 5 player game & lost but it was fun seeing the new cards. Never a bad time when hanging out with friends! I got the Pocahontas card & she’s pretty. Postcards with the sayings on the back are funny.

Played mahjong today & I was able to finally win! I think we played 4 games & I won on the last one. I had a lot of jokers so that helped. The hand was the 4 winds-4 North, 3 East, 3 West & 4 South. I tried a new hand. I usually end up doing consecutive numbers.

Monday Lorcana league was 2 - 3 player games & then a 4 player game. I at least won one of those games with my location deck. I blasted them with locations. Too many to banish all of them.

It seems my dog, Malcolm, has been good for my health. I get up every morning to walk him. Since it’s been hotter it 1-2 miles but when fall/winter was here it was 3-4 miles. Not looking forward to full blast summer. This Sun-Tues will be in the 100s. I love that for me!!

Ted Lasso binge watching update: we’re on season 3 with only 5 episodes left to watch then the wait until August. Looking forward to it!

Getting ready for season 4 of Ted Lasso by binge watching the others. Watching season 3 & still confused by the breakup with Roy & Keeley-no good reason for it. The 2nd confusion was how much hate Nate had. Still don’t understand why he became so terrible to everyone.
