Grammar post, but not griping I was just reading a review about a pocket knife. The author wrote, “Opening it’s unusual.” That’s kind of … fine, … right? I might say it that way, depending on how tired I am. “It’s unusual.” 😎 “The act of opening it’s unusual.” 🤔 I stumble-stepped reading it.

Rodney does his usual excellent job here. Bonus: I learned that we've been doing "Dazed" wrong for more than a year. We basically did it like "Blast Off" but you moved through the intervening spaces. The correct "wandering" way is much funnier and thematic.

Game designers and their spreadsheets. I designed a trick-taker (quelle surprise) in which partners' cards add together if they're the same suit. Each suit is 1-11. BUT, 2s double any card under 8 and 3s triple any card under 8. If our cards match, how good is each?

I landed another trick-taking game (😲) with a publisher. It leans heavily into partnership play, so it's geared for 4-6 players. The publisher asked whether I might get it to work with 3. I said, "Yeah, I spent 7 years cracking that nut, once."
