They are doing the electoral calculus and deciding that overall its better for them to stay silent in public. My own party has decided that trans people are a sacrifice they are willing to make, which leaves the Greens as the only viable option for me.

And for whatever reason Lib Dem MPs aren't getting it, even ones I believe strongly to be supportive of trans people. They're still calling for the EHRC guidance to be published (and by extension approved).
