In addition to this, plan your shit out ahead of time. This is called a tabletop scenario. Plan what you’ll do before it happens. Rehearse it till it becomes ingrained. People react in all kinds of ways to emergencies and it saves valuable time for your options to be automatic. Know it inside & out.

People free to start posting up their productive plans of alternative action any old time they’d like. Would love to see that instead of a lot of people shooting down everyone who has something to offer and highlighting their own privilege as they do it.

People need to start proactively thinking about how they’re going to defend their most vulnerable because the reality is that for countless disenfranchised groups it has been as bad as it can be for months. Where are the lost detainees from Florida?

Malcolm X He was not advocating random violence. He was arguing that non-violence cannot be morally required when the state refuses to protect citizen rights. Argument was conditional, not aggressive. If the law protects you, you work within. If the law fails you, self-defense is legitimate.
