We are delighted to share that our alumnus @mwegemann.bsky.social received an Honourable Mention in the 2025 Ernst B. Haas Best Dissertation Award by @apsa.bsky.social’s European Politics and Society section. His dissertation was recognised among the best works on European politics and society!

On Friday at #APSA, I'll be presenting new research on how political geography shapes the siting of collective goods. We use the consolidation of municipalities in Denmark to show how the distribution of entire electorate affects where wind energy is politically viable.

I don’t understand why European politicians feel the need to imitate Trump to curry favour with the voters. Trump is hopelessly unpopular in most of Europe.

It's terrifying to me that, as German students, we learn (in depth!) every bit of information included in this piece in school. And yet, it feels so relevant to read about it again today.
