tl;dr: GenAI and game design concepts traditionally referred to as "AI" (enemy behaviors, pathfinding, etc.) are not the same thing, and I'm on my knees begging people to learn the difference, lest we see more bullshit claims like what The Escapist put out re: Blue Prince.

So much of the Tech Industry is absolutely desperate to convince us that we cannot live without technology. That we NEED these devices and apps and software to live and like... We don't? We didn't for like 99% of human existence? We could go back very easily & it sounds more appealing every day.

ANYWAY, back to our regular program. This is ironic but the story highlighted today is about how an AI can't replace a human. Specifically, dead family members. It talks about how not knowing someone when they were alive will do little to help you know them now that they are gone--

I've been watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, and I am struck time & again by how bold and unafraid it is to drive home a point. The show does not equivocate. It does not shy away from whatever "controversial" topic it's addressing. It's breathtaking to know just how far we've backslid.
