When I arrive at the party

My game of the year is looking out of the window and trying to guess how long the traffic jam caused by the careless placement of single ebike is going to be. 20 mins? Two hours?? Exciting game, exciting!

Interesting idea: Buy the packaged version, get two copies of the game. Would obviously count as two registrations of the SKU, but at which point?? Feels like an experiment in pushing the price into special-edition band, without having to produce any actually-new materials.

Fuming with myself for not being able to remember the location of every single classic goal in THPS 3&4.

Simply as a PS5 owner, the recent decline in $1-2 games that are essentially trophy-score microtransactions (play for a few minutes, unlock 30 trophies including platinum) appearing on the PlayStation Store is noticeable.

Easy to overlook just how busy the release schedule has become for packaged games, which are discovering a new lease on life as post-release editions for mid-priced indie titles. Something close to 50 games hitting PS5 between now and Christmas, most of which I will gladly buy (at some point).

Much like the first game, gotta love the architectural vocab of PowerWash Simulator 2. Tasty brain nums. Balustrade. Eaves. Canopy. Corbel. Inner spandrel, oh baby. Cupola. Rail frame. Beam trim.

Jumped on the PlayStation Store yesterday afternoon to see if PowerWash 2 had been released, only to be greeted by like half a dozen games that I really wanted to play, and that had been released in just the past few hours.

Traditional slop waking up and wondering what the hell is going on.

Is the games industry profitable? Yes, and has been throughout the entire recent layoff wave. But profit margins did slide dramatically post-covid as costs shot up but revenue didn't keep pace. Margins have recovered since then, mostly thanks to reduced personnel costs.
