After looking at the projections, I asked myself how much better the Mariners are on paper to begin 2026 than they were to begin 2025, and then I talked for way too long about it on YouTube.

I wrote about a scouting lesson I only fully learned after writing one of my worst reports. This is a fun one:

Even the worst reports can turn into a positive if they change your thinking or provide a valuable lesson along the way.

LRT: I fall into despair and anxiety easily. The way information channels work are designed to make us do so. It's important to remember how many people are willing to help out, and care about those in need. It's most of us, honestly.

Wow! We do it! Oh my gosh, I am overwhelmed. You all were so kind and generous. We raised the $3k goal super quickly. I know thereās a ton of need out there and this family specifically will probably need more. Iāll reach out to everyone who DMāed that I couldnāt get back to in time. I love you all!

My kid's parade report: -High-fived Jake Bobo (assume he has a contact buzz as a result) -Reciprocal salute with JSN -Got beer dumped on him by Derick Hall -Observed AJ Barner in awe and wonder "They were all so drunk. Except Macdonald."

Worth watching this in full. The statement is more powerful than this quote alone. Here is is from USA Today, with alt text. Also! Rich Ruohonen is a personal injury lawyer and the oldest athlete to ever represent the United States in a Winter Games at 54 years old.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.

Hawk fans: Your team won the Super Bowl in dominant fashion and had one of the greatest seasons in the history of football. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks about it. That's the nice thing about winning.

No one needs another white guyās bad bunny opinions but whatever: If your reaction to a dude throwing a party celebrating his people and culture under a banner of peace and unity is to feel like *your* culture is under direct attack your culture probably sucks.
