I'm delighted to share the cover of my first book, Midowed: A Mother's Grief. Midowed is about loss, but also about Dan, and how brilliant he was. I can't wait for everyone to meet the boy they won't forget. Midowed is out Spring 2024, pre orders here!

If you know someone who's off to uni and who qualifies for Disabled Students' Allowance, get them to apply today whilst it's quiet! Processing times are quick rn but once A level results are out and EVERYONE applies, it clogs up and support is often delayed for many weeks

A damning pair of charts. People on lowest incomes own FIVE TIMES fewer cars than the richest do. Meanwhile kids in most deprived areas are FIVE TIMES more likely to be injured by cars.

Deserts are spreading across Britain, yet scarcely anyone in public life even seems to have noticed. This week's column seeks to open our eyes to something that has been too big to see.

There’s an invader turning huge swathes of Britain into deserts – and these dead zones are spreading | George Monbiot
Vast areas of land are now dominated by one species – purple moor-grass – and good luck with seeing a bird or insect there. How do we revive these habitats, asks Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Amazing! What a match! Incredible! SO MUCH ADRENALINE! Over 5 hours of outstanding tennis from two players we'll be seeing so much of for the next decade. Well done, Carlos!

It's a weird day. 7 years since Dan and I travelled back to Sheffield after enjoying the matinee of Blood Brothers at the Palace in Manchester. And on the way home he nipped to get a McDonald's. And didn't come home. I'm still not sure how the world turns without him.

Everyone forgets the true meaning of the late May bank holiday, when Jesus picked up a few bits from Screwfix, put up a shelf in the downstairs excuse me, and then watched the play-off final on the telly with John the Baptist.

I don't think the government has any idea how much of a political liability this is. When people twig what the Planning and Infrastructure Bill means - that our precious wild places will have no meaningful protection against whatever a corporation wants to do - it'll be felt as a monstrous betrayal.

Roughly 17,000 councillors in the UK. Nearly 6500 Labour. Just over 5000 Tory. 3000 Lib Dem. Reform have 799 and suddenly N.F. is being touted by the media as the next Prime Minister? The Green Party have 850 councillors. Why aren't the Green Party being bigged-up by the press? Seriously, why?
