I heard a rumor (so take that for what it is) that some authors will withdraw and resubmit their query letters, hoping to get on the top of the query box. Now I can't speak for other agents but I work from the bottom up, so if this is the strategy it might not be as affective as you'd've hoped.

Hot Tip for Writers who are querying: Have someone who is unfamiliar with your story read over your query and synopsis. If they don’t understand what the book is about or how the story unfolds neither will an agent.

For pitching authors, a quick update about what's new: 1) You will NOT receive a copy of your pitch submission via email. Last time, the feature wasn't reliable despite being enabled, and some people never received an email, leading to stress (understandably).

Queries open tomorrow (January 16) and will remain open through the end of the month! I don’t know when I’ll open again after that, so make sure to get yours in!
