If anyone ever tries to tell you that you gotta be a specific kind of person to be an artist, they're wrong. Being able to make art comes free with your humanity. In my view, people who say otherwise are either entirely full of themselves or can't escape what they've been conditioned to believe.

Alas, a rejection from one of the agents I was really hoping for. Sometimes I forget how disheartening this whole process is. I'm trying to hold out hope for at least a full manuscript request from one of the others, but dang. Ya notgirl needs a win. #amquerying

God, Sawkill Girls was such a good read. I had so many Feelings about every one of those girls and even some of the side characters. I really liked the message, too, and it didn't feel as heavy handed as others have been for me. The monster? Terrifying. The queer romance? Fantastic. 📚💙

man, two chapters into this rewrite and it's amazing what you discover about the story and characters just by shifting perspective! I am finally able to expand the opening chapters into something more impactful and have added some plot points and lore that didn't exist before. I love writing :'D

I don't really like the term "writer's block," because it just doesn't really encompass what's actually going on. Today, I described it as "creative constipation." It may be crude, but it's so accurate; I'm full of ideas and details and bits and bobs, but I can't quite get them out 😹
