Toxicology principle that needs to be mainstream: The dose makes the poison. That’s true of everything. Water. Oxygen. Vitamin A. Vitamin D. Aspartame. Formaldehyde. A single pear contains 120 times MORE formaldehyde than what might be in a vaccine. 1/

It's just a sports ban. It's just a bathroom ban. It's just a healthcare for kids ban. It's just a military service ban. It's just a federal jobs ban. It's just a university housing ban. It's just a passport & visa ban. It's just one Constitutional right. It's just your status as free citizens.

I’ve been very impressed with the new NYC subway trains and signage but how even on these new trains is the only communication for sudden service changes a crackly muffled “this train will be going express” over the loudspeaker and no visual communication? Wrong doors lit up too.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times: We need to break out of this political culture that insists every college sophomore speaks for the Democratic Party whenever they post online but the Republican Party is somehow not represented by what the Republican president says on television.

If you want to put back statues and memorials and names of Confederate traitors while tearing down museum exhibitions on slavery because they don't show the greatness of the nation... the nation whose history you're celebrating is whiteness. The kind of nationalist you are is a white nationalist.

Press needs to stop repeating govt euphemism of “clearing homeless camps.” I’ve witnessed it in other cities: massive destruction of personal property. Not just bedrolls & tents; family photos, Bibles, meds. Times I’ve seen it people weren’t even given option to move their things.

It's easy to forget now but we had decades of steady advancement on trans rights. The 2016 bathroom bills invited huge backlash! It was only after the media constructed sports and youth medications as 'debates' that opposition moved from the far right to the polite center.

When a cabinet member announces "We are using the military to liberate an American city from its elected leaders," where do you go from there. What is left to say. The idea of that being anything short of a near-universal "Wait, what the fuck is going on" moment proves how far we've backslid.

Ds and Rs are very different on most issues. The issues where they have common ground, though, are generally ones where they've decided to unite around being horrible...like with supporting genocide in Gaza. or harming sex workers. or harming immigrants.

Consider the way we treat people who want to get rid of age of consent laws. Do we publish op-eds proposing that view in major newspapers? Do we produce humanizing documentaries about how they came to that belief? No. We laugh in their faces and tell them to shut up if they bring it up.
