Having missed the first #Socceroos game due to poor #sydfilmfest scheduling on my part, my body decided there was no way in hell we'd miss game 2, so it woke me up at 3am for a 5am game. So let's do this, I guess.

Yesss, THE BLUE TRAIL is finally getting a release? One of the trippiest and coolest films I saw at *last year's* #sydfilmfest

#sydfilmfest is done and dusted! As always, the shorts were a very worthwhile event (although they announced the winners before we watched the films!?? Argh!!). My picks: MAŊUTJI, RAFT RACE, FLYWIRE, SAINT VALENTINE, MR ADIDOS, look, that's most of them, and I liked the rest as well.

Also looks like the Socceroos are ahead! Woo!

Final session of #sydfilmfest! It's the Dendy Awards, always a great way to finish the festival!

FJORD: incredible moral complexity that verged a little into something a little reactionary. Still: it was gripping, and it gives you a lot to think about. #sydfilmfest

After this I am bolting down a couple of blocks to see the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films, and I might not check in in between due to the tight turnaround. #sydfilmfest

Next we have my final feature, and my final film in the State for this year. It's Palme d'Or-winner FJORD. #sydfilmfest

THE DREAMED ADVENTURE: perplexing and overly long. Possibly there was something beyond the concept of "revisiting your past", but I found it hard to unlock. #sydfilmfest

It is the final day of #sydfilmfest, which I greet with a complex combination of sadness, exhaustion and relief. I have 12 films for the final day (if you count the Dendy short films as individual films, which I do). Starting with two award-winning features though. First up THE DREAMED ADVENTURE.

GHOST IN THE CELL was an excellent piece of Freak Me Out programming: very silly, very gory, very much fun to watch with a packed audience. It even had a solid political message if you squinted hard enough. #sydfilmfest
