10. Sonic Rumble! A free to play Sonic Battle Royale similar to Fall Guys. As a Fall Guys veteran, the game scratches a ton of the right itches and does some neat things to set itself apart from it's inspiration. The coverage of Sega IPs is also great, including some deeper cuts for the fans.

9. Sonic 3D Blast! Arguably the Sonic game of my childhood, and Sonic's first platforming game in the third dimension. Isomeric platforming still holds up, and I've been picking this game up as a speedrun where I'm more fighting the combat mechanics than the mobility. Also, a banger soundtrack!

8. Rabbit and Steel! MMO fans who don't want to play MMOs keep winning. A game that wears is XIV influence on its shoulder, with most MMO fans being able to find joy in it's group mechanics and content. As a WoW Torghast enthusiast, the roguelike elements are also well thought out and very silly.

The world is a fuck, but I know that I will live long enough to dance on the graves of many of my enemies and long enough to play Sonic Mania on a Sega Dreamcast. And perhaps that is enough.

It's so disheartening that in 4 months, I went from celebrating cracking the top 50 in open competitive pinball to having the members of that organization assume I'm a bad faith actor. It's really sad that I have to walk away from something I love because the people in charge are awful.

Effective immediately, I'm taking an indefinite break from competitive pinball. Competitive pinball is a great community marred by an organization that has perfected the science of stepping on rakes. It's clear at this point that the hobby's inclusivity is a self solving problem.
