No amount of people being assholes, in any way, will change my beliefs or stop me from standing up for those beliefs, but it can make me not want to stand with certain people. Some people go out of their way to antagonize the wrong people for no benefit. It makes no sense.

I told my 60+ year old mom about payment processors limiting what people can buy or suspending accounts over buying adult books and toys. She, a rather prudish person, was horrified that they should be the morality police. Maybe get your romance book moms to send some strongly worded letters.
