Today in Selma and Montgomery, Alabama, crowds gathered for the National Day of Action. Activists, lawmakers, and everyday people pushed back against attacks on voting rights and Black political representation happening across the South. Here are scenes taken by Nikolai Pizarro on Instagram.

I said something the other day about the right being scared of Bluesky and a few people laughed at it, but I don't think they understood why I said it. Everybody's gotten so conditioned to think biggest is best, but it rarely ever is. It's a lot easier to unite and organize in a smaller space.

I've worked in digital for almost twenty years now. Typically it is data swaps, rentals, or purchases by one candidate or group from another. Though some campaigns will just upload mobile numbers from the voter file which is even more bananas.

Probably true that pols scrape them, and so do Republicans and other anti-democrats. I have heard complaints Republicans get a lot of spam. Republicans are really going after Act Blue right now, and when you Google act blue, a bunch of GOP attacks come up. They need to step up and speak to concerns.

I'm active and I've donated, and this hasn't happened to me. It probably came from one origin. I never share my phone, just my email, and so far if I get an unsolicited from a candidate, I just unsubscribe and it goes away. I only text with specific candidates I've volunteered to help.

I have questions about term limits, but not for executives. Not that he'd win if he ran again, but still.

Media has intentionally elevated people like him as representative of the party, and it's spread by bots on social media. It's not going to work this time, but we need to be more vigilant and competitive about primary candidates than we often are.

Forcing votes is one of their biggest minority powers and Dems need to amplify everywhere how Republicans keep voting. Obstruction is another that Republicans use very well that I wish Dems would use more, but they've started. Good legislative strategizing happening lately.

If you're here for what others are doing and your interests are broad, this place is great. If you want others to engage with you or to promote your own work, depending on what it is, you'll probably be frustrated. People are treated the same without regard for who they are. Some don't like that.

I think my favorite political posts on Bluesky are blue mayors doing cool stuff for their cities and talking about their cities. Republican mayors might do that, but I've never seen it.
