I've heard podcasts about the difficulties in repatriation so this was a very interesting read. A lot of art and artifacts seem to be recovered in NYC, which I didn't know though it makes total sense.

This was one of the most fun interviews I’ve done in a while! I loved geeking out over sci-fi, historical fic, and my middle school One Direction phase.

"I refuse." This is it. There's no reason we should accept a narrative of an already settled future which marginalizes humans and individual agency. No one wants this. No one asked for it.

It's incredibly miserable that throughout human history we have needed a big midwinter festival to bring light and relief to the dark and the cold, yet we have warped it into a stressful time that makes everything more difficult at the point of the year when you're exhausted and could do without it.

Once again a reminder: We can have trans rights, bodily autonomy, gender nonconformity, and freedom of expression, or we can have none of these things. There’s no third option.

Reminder: Minors do not get gender affirming care surgeries except in the rarest of cases. They almost always wait until the patient is 18. Thus, the #Trump administration is not only lying, but by stopping puberty blockers and hormones, increasing the suicidality of trans teens.
