Voters think they can have it all: an affordable life and a livable planet. They are right. Both is at the core of an anti-fascist economics that centers on making life livable for all rather than letting the far right dystopia of a burning planet rule. Chart via

this sort of nonsense alights just how important antidemocracy is to the far right. if people want to elect an immigrant then let them. if a characteristic of a person is enough to make people not want to vote for them that is terrible but it’s also a hyperminority view (which is why they say this)

Pleased to once again get the chance to make the case for compulsory voting, this time in a report for Labour Together. I set out why compulsory voting would rebalance British democracy towards a more long-termist progressive politics.

Endlessly proud to be a part of the team and a part of the movement that’s made this possible. Tonight, your pubs, your music venues, your sports halls are all safer and more secure. Community assets in community hands. 🙌

The workers making British music festivals great should be the ones who own them. A UK festival just became employee-owned for the first time in history. We’re calling on the government to make this the standard, not the exception, for the creative industries.

something funny about ninajirachi is she is 26 years old meaning she is 6 years younger than me, but she seems to have experienced the pre modern internet exactly the same way I did, which can only lead me to the conclusion that Australia is a half decade behind the UK culturally

🏡 Housing co-ops work. The problem is that UK law doesn't have a home for them. Without a proper co-operative housing tenure, co-ops have to work to legal structures built for something else, making them harder to set up, harder to scale, and harder to access. Let's change that.

His whole gimmick is being divisive, he can't even make a point about the state pension without making a snide remark suggesting that young people today who have endured wage stagnation, a housing crisis and a pandemic, all while maintaining record high employment levels, don't make a contribution
