Big moment as the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill receives its Second Reading in the Commons this evening with Angela Rayner leading the charge 🎯

In Parliament just now, Angela Rayner set out plans for a new Community Right to Buy: giving local people the power to protect the places that matter. From shops and pubs to sports grounds, this is about control, pride, and real community power.

This government is using the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill to give communities a real stake and a say in their local area. Our movement's values are at the heart of this legislation.

Great to be with the Deputy Prime Minister at the Leaders Council last week, which is resetting the relationship between local & central government. By working as partners & reforming the system through our Devolution Bill, we are tackling the big issues facing communities across our country.

There's been no government for a generation that has done more on workers' rights than this one. This is why we want to sort the situation in Birmingham fairly: removing waste & restoring routine collections during the ongoing dispute, & providing stability through the local gov finance settlement.

This weekend, we celebrate 77 years of our National Health Service. It was inspired by co-operative values: working people pooling resources to build local, democratic healthcare, like the Tredegar Medical Aid Society in South Wales. We're proud to see the Government expanding on its legacy.
